Oman Olympic Committee holds finance management course

A specialised sports management course on finance was held last week by the Oman Olympic Committee within the framework of the Olympic Solidarity 2018 Programme.

A total of 22 employees involved in finance in sports associations and committees and other partnering sports organisations took part in the management course. In attendance were Taha bin Sulaiman Al Kishry, the NOC Secretary General, and Dr. Munzir bin Hilal Al Busaidi, assistant professor and assistant dean for training and community services at Sultan Qaboos University.

In his opening address, Al Kishry said the objective of the NOC in holding this programme covering all areas of administration, finance and technical aspects were to raise the productivity of employees of sports organisations in Oman.

Dr Munzir Al Busaidi thanked the Oman Olympic Committee for its continuing support for such courses which contribute to honing the skills and increasing the experience of employees working for the NOC and sports associations in the field of finance.

The course is a part of a series of programmes in sports management approved by the NOC Board of Directors. The Times of Oman reported that the NOC represented by the Oman Olympic Solidarity Committee has always been keen to maximise the utilization of such programmes by putting in place a detailed plan targeting all sports associations and committees as well as other sports stakeholders.
