An ANOC delegation, led by ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg, conducted a two-day site visit in Tokyo this week as the Olympic host city continues its preparations to stage the ANOC General Assembly and ANOC Awards later this year.
The ANOC delegation was welcomed to Tokyo by the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) on Wednesday morning and held meetings with the JOC and a number of its partners who will support in the preparations for the ANOC General Assembly.
ANOC met with each of the JOC departments and partners responsible for key logistical and operational areas including accommodation, transportation, programme and scheduling, financial conditions, visa and airport authorities, media and communications and branding and signage.
ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg said.
“We are pleased with the meetings we have had here in Tokyo and the progress that has been made. We have a lot of work left to do but we are confident that Tokyo and the JOC will be excellent hosts and deliver a fantastic General Assembly and ANOC Awards. Tokyo and Japan are known for their excellent hosting ability and welcoming hospitality and I am sure the world’s NOCs will enjoy their stay here in November.”
Tokyo will host the General Assembly on 28-29 November with the ANOC Awards taking place on 28 November.
