ANOC President and Secretary General address 46th EOC General Assembly
ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah and ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg today addressed the European Olympic Committees (EOC) on the opening day of its General Assembly in Zagreb, Croatia.
The ANOC President joined IOC President Thomas Bach and EOC Acting President Janez Kocijančič in delivering a welcome speech to the delegates of all 50 European NOCs. The ANOC President reiterated the importance of the meeting and wished all the European NOCs competing at the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang the very best of luck. Croatian Olympic Committee President Zlatko Mateša and the Republic of Croatia Secretary of State for Sport Janica Kostelić also offered a warm welcome.
During the General Assembly, ANOC Secretary General provided a report on ANOC’s activities over the last year as it continues to work on delivering the best possible support to its NOCs. The report included the latest update on the ANOC World Beach Games which is set to take place for the first time in San Diego in 2019 and will help connect NOCs with the next generation of athletes and fans.
The afternoon session of the General Assembly will see the election of the new Executive Committee for the 2017-2021 quadrennial.
