OCA General Assembly re-elects Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah as OCA President
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah was unanimously re-elected as OCA President for a four year term during the 38th OCA General Assembly in Bangkok, Thailand.
The OCA General Assembly also elected the five Vice Presidents from each of the five OCA regions as well as four other Vice Presidents whose role was associated with their function in the OCA. The Chairs of all the OCA Standing Committees were confirmed, as well as the composition of the Ethics Committee.
Shantou, China was confirmed as host of the 2021 Asian Youth Games and reports were heard from each of the upcoming hosts of the OCA Games. It was announced that athletes from Oceania would be able to participate in the upcoming Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and the OCA also signed an agreement with ANOCA during the General Assembly.
ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg provided an update on ANOC’s activities since the ANOC General Assembly and reports were also given by Olympic Solidarity, WADA and Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022.
