The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) currently has nine Commissions and Working Groups.
The Commissions and Working Groups were ratified on 9 December 2013 during the ANOC Executive Council meeting and given a one-year mandate, with a strong emphasis on delivering tangible and measureable results for the benefit of ANOC's stakeholders. The establishment of the new specialised task forces came as a result of the recommendations made by the original Modernisation Commission to the ANOC Extraordinary General Assembly on 15 June 2013 in Lausanne.
The Commissions and Working Groups met throughout 2014 before presenting their action plans at the annual ANOC General Assembly on 8-9 November 2014 in Bangkok. On 17 March 2015 the chairs, vice-chairs and members of the Commissions and Working Groups were appointed for a second year. Throughout 2015 they were responsible for implementing the action plans as ANOC looks to improve the support it offers its NOCs and their athletes.
During 2016 the Commissions and Working Groups continued to meet to find solutions to the problems facing NOCs around the world. The latest presentations of the Commissions and Working Groups took place on 15-16 November 2016 during the XXI ANOC General Assembly in Doha.
