Comité Olímpico Angolano visits Korean Sport & Olympic Committee

President of the Angolan Olympic Committee, Mr. Gustavo Dias Vaz Da CONCEICAO visited the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee on 28 March 2018, and had a meeting with the KSOC Secretary General Choong Ryul JEON.

The president of  the Angolan Olympic Committee started the meeting with the Secretary General of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee by congratulating on the successful hosting of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and he looked forward to a mutually beneficial relationship through sports exchanges between two NOCs.

As the Angolan National Team is currently focusing on strategic sports such as taekwondo and judo in order to achieve outstanding results in the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games, President Conceicao hoped that Korea, known as a strong contender in these sports, would be able to provide them with support and proposed various sport exchange programmes.

The Secretary General Jeon then introduced the KSOC’s “Development Assistance programme” to him, and invited his country to participate in “Taekwondo Coach Education Programme” and some others that will be held in Korea this year.

After the discussion on sports administration and sports exchanges, president Conceicao visited the National Training Center of KSOC in Jincheon, where he met with the Chief of the NTC Jae Geun LEE. The NTC is the driving force of sports performance in Korea, and the president of the Angolan NOC had the opportunity to tour the facilities and watch the Korean athletes train.
