International Day of Sport for Development and Peace
On 6th April, representatives of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the NOC Commission “Sport and Sustainable Development” and the Belarusian Tennis Federation organized a unique sports event dedicated to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace at the Republican Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children.
In his welcoming address, Anton Yuspa, the head of the NOC commission “Sport and Sustainable Development“, noted that it is very important to celebrate together this important day, which is designed to unite everyone around the sport.
“Today you will have a unique opportunity to try yourself in a sport like tennis. We brought racquets, balls with us, and each of you will be able to feel like a real tennis player”, – said Anton Juspa.
The leading Belarusian tennis players and coaches of the national team came to attract children’s attention to tennis. They conducted a master class for the pupils of the center and talked about tennis on wheelchairs.
7-year-old pupil of the rehabilitation center Victoria was also able to feel herself a real tennis player.
“I am fond of tennis. I really like this sport”, – said young Vicki.
At the end of the training, all participants received memorable souvenirs from the NOC Belarus and the Belarusian Tennis Federation, and also became a part of the social action “White Card”.
The organizers invited all those who are not indifferent to the sport to rally around the symbol of the “White Card” campaign that is a sign of commitment to peace initiatives throughout the world and to make a memorable photo.
