PRESIDENT OF JORDAN OLYMPIC COMMITTEE PRAISES THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE COUNTRY
HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, president of the Jordan Olympic Committee, has marked International Women’s Day by praising the crucial role that women and girls continue to play across society.
The Vice Chair of the International Olympic Committee Women In Sport Commission said it was important that total equality is achieved both on and off the sporting field.
“On International Women’s Day, we must continue to press for progress for women equality on and off sport field. There are many challenges to overcome but, step by step, through collective action and shared responsibility, we can accelerate gender parity in sport.” said the president.
Under his direction, the Jordan Olympic Committee has made tireless efforts to encourage women to practice sport with growing numbers now coming through to represent the country in a number of different sports.
Females also make up a growing percentage of personnel at the NOC and moves are continuously being made to ensure that more females are having the opportunity to work in sport, particularly at the National Federations.
