EOC meetings in Belgrade, Serbia May 10-12th, 2018
The EOC Executive Council met for the second time in 2018 in the city of Belgrade on Thursday 10 May. Following the Executive Council meeting, the EOC Seminar took place on 11-12 May, which was attended by Secretary Generals, Chef De Missions and representatives from 50 European NOCs as well as NOCs from Brazil, Canada, Japan, South Korea, South Africa and the USA.
The first day of the Seminar was dedicated to the topic of NOC preparations for the Olympic Games and information about the IOC New Norm.
Olympic Solidarity director Pamela Vipond and ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg also gave an update on their activities including the Olympism in Action seminar in Buenos Aires and ANOC World Beach Games in San Diego.
The Seminar was introduced by the IOC and ANOC who presented the New Norm, that was launched by IOC in February this year, and the impact it will have on the NOCs.
Representatives from the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee also gave a report on their preparations and how the New Norm is impacting the Games.
In the afternoon, different NOCs made short presentations on how they prepare for the Olympic Games so that all attending NOCs were able to share their experience.
The second day of the Seminar saw the NOCs receive updates on the upcoming European Games, EYOF and GSSE.
Next year’s Seminar will take place in Albania.
