Tokyo 2020 Concludes MoU with Games Security Joint Venture
The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Joint Venture Group for Tokyo 2020 Games Security, a collaboration between 14 security companies led by SECOM Co. Ltd and SOHGO SECURITY SERVICES Co. Ltd (ALSOK). Both SECOM and ALSOK are Tokyo 2020 Official Partners in the Security Services and Planning category, and the agreement will allow Tokyo 2020 to delegate the management of venue and facility security in Tokyo and surrounding areas during the Games to the new joint venture.
The joint venture will develop and enhance security procedures for the Games, and will be responsible for hiring the requisite security personnel. To this end, Tokyo 2020 and the joint venture plan to draw up and implement a comprehensive agreement, aiming to standardise the types of security services and security levels that will be provided during the Games. Tokyo 2020 will closely cooperate with the joint venture and other relevant organisations in order to ensure a safe and secure Games and to help realise what it hopes will be the most innovative Games ever.
