ITA Board Welcomes Jacques Antenen as New Chair, Bids Farewell to Dr. Valérie Fourneyron
During its second biannual meeting in Korea, held alongside the World Conference on Doping in Sport, the International Testing Agency (ITA) Foundation Board announced key leadership changes. Mr. Jacques Antenen (SUI) was appointed as the new Chair, effective 1 January 2026, succeeding Dr. Valérie Fourneyron, who has led the Board since its creation in 2018.
Mr. Antenen brings over 25 years of experience as an independent auditor and disciplinary expert in sports, alongside a distinguished public service career in Switzerland. His expertise in compliance, risk management, and institutional integrity is expected to strengthen ITA’s role in delivering clean sport programs globally.
Dr. Fourneyron, a sports physician, former French Minister of Sports, and former Member of Parliament, was thanked for her exceptional leadership. Under her guidance, the ITA expanded its programs, enhanced capacities, and deepened collaboration with key stakeholders in the Olympic and clean-sport communities.
The Board also welcomed two new members: Mr. Ingmar de Vos, President of the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) and the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), and Prof. Lijuan Mao (CHN), President of Shanghai University of Sport. They join as part of the Board’s commitment to independent oversight and international representation.
The ITA expressed sincere gratitude to departing members, including Mr. Francesco Ricci Bitti (ITA) and Prof. Peijie Chen (CHN), for their significant contributions. With these appointments, the Board reaffirms its dedication to athlete protection, transparency, and the advancement of clean sport worldwide.
