ANOC celebrates Play True Day

ANOC today encouraged NOCs around the world to celebrate Play True Day and join stakeholders across the Olympic Movement in promoting their commitment to clean sport.

Play True Day is celebrated every year on 9 April and this year, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has invited all its stakeholders in the global anti-doping community to Play Safe on Play True Day 2020.

NOCs can show their support by joining WADA’s social media campaign and promote public health by explaining what they are doing to help contain the spread of the virus.

Acting ANOC President Robin Mitchell said:

“During very difficult times like these it is critical that we continue to promote the values and ideals that unite us and define our shared Olympic Movement. Clean sport and protecting our clean athletes is something ANOC is completely committed to. Play True Day is an important day in raising anti-doping awareness but this year it takes on added significance as it also aims to promote awareness around public health.”
