ANOC marks one year to go to XXVIII General Assembly in Hong Kong, China
Hong Kong, China; 10 December 2025: ANOC and members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) today celebrated one year to go until the XXVIII ANOC General Assembly in Hong Kong, China, when the NOC family and international sports leaders will converge on the city.
The General Assembly will bring together the Olympic Movement for three days of strategic discussions, celebration and collaboration that will help shape the future of global sport.
It represents one of the most significant gatherings of the Olympic Family in 2026, with more than 200 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) joined by representatives from the IOC, International Federations, Organising Committees for the Olympic Games, and other key Olympic Movement stakeholders.
As an Elective General Assembly, NOCs will elect its leadership for 2027-2030, reinforcing ANOC’s commitment to serving its members.
The programme will consist of two days of ANOC General Assembly meetings, followed by a day of ANOC Special Theme Sessions exploring key challenges and opportunities facing NOCs and the broader Olympic community. The first day of the General Assembly will conclude with the prestigious ANOC Awards, honouring the outstanding athletes and NOCs from the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
The Hong Kong, China General Assembly follows the highly successful XXVII General Assembly in Cascais, Portugal, which generated a direct economic impact of £2.47 million for the host city and region whilst bringing together the Olympic Family in a spirit of unity and shared purpose.
