ANOC SECRETARY GENERAL PAYS VISIT TO HONG KONG

ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg paid a visit to the NOC of Hong Kong upon the invitation of the President of the NOC and Chairperson of the ANOC Events Commission Mr. Timothy Fok. Whilst in Hong Kong she attended the press conference for the opening of the voting of the awards for the 340 athletes who are competing for the best athlete of the year in female, male and team sports.

On 13 February, Secretary Lindberg had a meeting with the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Mr. Kevin Young, Legislator Kenneth Fok and Mr. Timothy Fok. Discussions took place on the development of elite sport in Hong Kong after the NOC’s successful performance at the Olympic Games 2020 as well as the development of sport for all. There was also an exchange of ideas on how Hong Kong can host sporting events in the future and how the Bay Area can be used for further development and new possibilities regarding the ANOC World Beach Games and ANOC General Assemblies.
