IOC President Kirsty Coventry Visits ANOC Headquarters

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry visited the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) headquarters on Wednesday. Meeting the ANOC staff, she discussed the organisation’s ongoing work in support of the world’s National Olympic Committees (NOCs). ANOC expressed is full support to the Fit for the Future strategic framework which was endorsed by the IOC Session last week in Lausanne.

The visit provided an opportunity for the ANOC team to present a comprehensive overview of the organisation’s strategic initiatives and the range of services delivered to the 206 NOCs. Discussions focused on ANOC’s continued commitment to strengthening NOCs through innovative digital solutions, communication programmes, knowledge sharing and capacity-building initiatives that enhance the support available to athletes and National Olympic Committees across the Olympic Movement.

President Coventry was also briefed on preparations for the upcoming ANOC General Assembly which is to take place in Hong Kong, China, with the ANOC team outlining the latest progress in planning one of the Olympic Movement’s largest gatherings. The General Assembly will once again bring together representatives from National Olympic Committees, the International Olympic Committee, International Federations, Organising Committees and Olympic Movement stakeholders from around the world to discuss the future of sport and strengthen collaboration across the global Olympic community.
