TikTok the focus of NOC Social Media Webinar 4

ANOC today hosted the fourth edition of the NOC Social Media Webinar which was focused on providing attending NOCs with information and the best practice use of TikTok.

TikTok is the fastest growing social media platform and in September 2021 hit 1 billion monthly active users.

A total of 70 participants from 50 NOCs attended the webinar. Arthur Guisasola, Strategic Partner Lead for Sport at TikTok UK, led the webinar and provided an introduction to TikTok and specifically sport on the platform. Guisasola shared content tips and the keys to success including the importance of prioritising quality over quantity and how to maximise video performance. He also gave information about content formats and the different opportunities from split-screen highlights to lives.

Ross Hobart who manages Digital/Social Media at Team GB gave delivered a short case study on how the NOC used TikTok during Tokyo 2020. Through their #AskTeamGB campaign and leveraging the popularity of their athletes, Team GB was able to generate 105m views and engage a younger audience than they do through other social media platforms.

For the second half of the webinar, it was opened up to a Q&A for participating NOCs.

It was agreed that a second webinar on TikTok would be held for the NOCs who were unable to attend today due to Beijing 2022 preparations.
