Kosovo NOC fully recognised by the IOC on final day of 127th IOC Session

The National Olympic Committee of Kosovo was today fully recognised by the IOC on the final day of the historic 127th IOC Session.

As a fully recognised NOC, Kosovo automatically becomes a member of the ANOC family. Speaking following the 127th IOC Session ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah said:

“I am honoured and proud to welcome Kosovo as the 205th NOC of ANOC. I would like to thank all those involved particularly IOC President Bach and EOC President Patrick Hickey who have ensured that all discussions were carried out in a harmonious way.”

The other items approved on the final day of the 127th IOC Session were:

  • Lima, Peru was elected as host city of the 130th IOC Session in 2017
  • IOC member Gian–Franco Kasper was given an age limit extension until 30 June 2018
  • Jean-Claude Killy, Raja Randhir Singh, HRH Prince Nawaf Faisal Fahd Abdulaziz, Leo Wallner, were elected as honorary IOC members
  • Meliton Sanchez Rivas was elected as IOC Honorary member as of 1 January 2015
  • HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein won the Trophy of the International Olympic Committee
  • The following representatives from the five continents were awarded the Women in Sport Award
    • Aya Mahmoud Medany (Egypt)
    • Sheikha Naïmah Al-Sabah (Kuwait)
    • Anastasia Davydova (Russia)
    • Sian Mulholland (Australia)
    • Nancy Hogshead-Makar (USA)

Meriem Cherni Mizouni of Tunisia was awarded the World Winner of the Women and Sport trophy
