Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee organise conference on “Elite Sport and COVID-19

The Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA) organised a conference on “elite sport and COVID-19”, on Saturday 27 March 2021, at their headquarters.

After welcome words from the President of the COA, Mr. Abderahmane HAMMAD, the speakers provided the heads of the national sports federations with as much information as possible on this pandemic and the behaviors to be adopted by the members of our delegation to the Olympic Games in Tokyo in accordance with the recommendations of the IOC and the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games.

The conferences were structured around the following themes:

“Miraitowa & Someity”[Tokyo 2020 mascots] in a white coat by Dr CHOUITER. F, followed by the theme “Covid 19: Strategy of the National Center for Sports Medicine” by Dr YAHIAOUI.

The third intervention was entitled “Athlete Covid +: How to resume sport” by Dr ARFI. L and finally “The importance of the mental dimension in post-Covid-19 sports recovery” was presented by psychologist Ms. HADJ-ARAB.

These interventions were followed by debates.
