Nepal Olympic Committee organises COVID-19 Awareness Programme for Nepalese athletes
The Nepal Olympic Committee has organised an Awareness Programme on coronavirus (COVID-19) for its athletes to ensure they have the latest expert advice on how to protect themselves and those around them.
As part of the programme, expert doctors gave the athletes details about coronavirus and preventative measures.
The programme was inaugurated by the President of NOC and Member of Parliament, Honorable Jeevan Ram Shrestha. The main speakers were Dr. Baburam Marashini, Former director of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, Department of Health Services on the coroanvirus and Dr. Saroj Krishna Shrestha, Chairperson of Medical Commission of the NOC.
A total of 22 participants, including the wild card applicants from Nepal for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics were present.
President Shrestha said that NOC have made a Doctor’s Panel to help the athletes as unknown medicines may cause doping. If any problem arises then they will be available at all times to assist the athletes and give them proper treatment.
