ANOC Mourns Loss of Dennis Miller, ONOC Executive Director

ANOC was deeply saddened to learn that Dennis Miller, Executive Director of the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC), has passed away at the age of 61.

Miller became Executive Director of ONOC in 1997 and has played a key role in the development of sport within Oceania in that time.

As a former national champion in 100m butterfly, Miller was particularly passionate about aquatics and served as the FINA Vice President and as President of the Oceania Swimming Association. He also served on the FINA Technical Open Water Swimming Committee in 1997 for 10 years and played an important role in the discipline being added to the Olympic Programme at Beijing 2008.

Miller was a popular and well-respected member of the NOC community and he will be deeply missed in Oceania and around the world.

ANOC’s thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time.
