ANOCA Visit to Equatorial Guinea Ahead of the 2027 African Beach Games RIABA

An ANOCA delegation led by President Mustapha Berraf undertook an official working visit to Equatorial Guinea from 1 to 3 August 2026 to assess preparations for the Third African Beach Games, to be held in Riaba in 2027.

The visit focused on key organisational priorities, including the appointment of the Local Organising Committee and technical sub-committees, the athlete registration platform, and the finalisation of the sports programme. Sixteen sports have so far been selected, including beach football, 3×3 basketball, beach handball, beach volleyball, athletics, judo, karate, wrestling, tennis, teqball and Akong, a traditional sport.

The delegation also met with senior political and sports authorities to review preparations for sports facilities, the athletes’ village, transport, logistics, accommodation, medical services and security.

ANOCA commended the commitment of the Equatorial Guinean authorities and reaffirmed its support for the successful delivery of the Games. Both parties agreed to maintain close dialogue and strengthen monitoring mechanisms as preparations continue towards RIABA 2027.

The ANOCA President was accompanied by First Vice-President Joao Manuel Da Costa and Zone 4 President Idriss Dokony Adiker.
