EOC marks six months to go until Winter EYOF Brașov 2027
The EOC marks six months to go until the Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Brașov, Romania, with the event scheduled from 14 to 21 February 2027.
Preparations are well underway, with the Organising Committee – led by Chair George Scripcaru, the Mayor of Brașov, and Executive Director Dan Ghiță, Deputy Mayor of Brașov – working closely with the EOC to deliver the EYOF across a full winter sports programme.
Athletes will compete in ice hockey, 3×3 ice hockey, Alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, biathlon, figure skating, short track and ski mountaineering, with both Athletes’ Villages and the Opening and Closing Ceremony venues also taking shape.
Around 1,000 athletes aged 14 to 18 are expected to compete in Brașov, with the EYOF continuing to bring together young athletes from across the continent, many of whom will experience an international multi-sport event for the first time. The Festivals also provide a valuable opportunity for young athletes to learn about the Olympic Values and the spirit of Olympism.
The EOC’s Brașov 2027 Coordination Commission (CoCom), chaired by Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Serbia Damir Stajner, continues to work with the Organising Committee to oversee planning.
The Chefs de Mission Seminar is confirmed for 23-24 September, where further details will be shared with participating NOCs.
