The first edition of the “Expert Connection” series on the Panam Sports Channel exceeded expectations with a lively presentation and conversation with athletes by Dr. Jose Maria Buceta.

More than 600 athletes joined the live programme on 16th April, with many submitting questions before the programme began and many others utilizing the chat feature on the Channel to ask for advice and guidance during these uncertain times.

Panam Sports is thrilled with the amount of participation from athletes, coaches and National Olympic Committees across the region and the beneficial discussion that was generated by their questions. The Organization hopes that the athletes who joined the conversation now feel more equipped to handle the stress and anxiety produced by this worldwide pandemic and will utilize the strategies presented to maintain a positive outlook and strong mental focus.

Following the first edition, Panam Sports will utilize the feedback and experience gained to continue to improve the live programme as well as the user-experience for the athletes, coaches and National Olympic Committees who join the conversation.

The series will continue 21st April with Dr. Sean McCann joining the programme live at 4 PM ET to deliver his expertise and guidance to English-speaking athletes. Dr. McCann will give a presentation and answer questions from athletes related to “Mental Skills & Strategies to Cope with Uncertainty and Distraction”.
