Robin Mitchell re-elected unopposed as ONOC President
Robin Mitchell has been re-elected as Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC) President during the Continental Association’s General Assembly in Fiji.
Mitchell, who also serves as Acting ANOC President, was the only candidate standing for the position and was re-elected by acclamation. He will serve for a fourth term having first been elected as ONOC President in 2009, and will serve through to 2025.
In the other elections at the General Assembly, IOC member Baklai Temengil was re-elected as ONOC Vice-President at the General Assembly and Ricardo Blas was re-elected as ONOC Secretary General. Four members were elected to the ONOC Executive Board:
- Auvita Rapilla
- Jim Tobin
- Marcus Stephen
- Takitoa Taumoepeau
IOC President Thomas Bach and ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg both attended the General Assembly.
Secretary General Lindberg delivered a presentation on ANOC’s activities including an update on the next edition of the ANOC World Beach Games which is expected to be confirmed very soon.
