PANAMA CELEBRATES THE OLYMPIC DAY

Panama Olympic Committee joined the annual celebrations around the world on the occasion of the Olympic Day, which commemorates the founding anniversary of the International Olympic Committee on 23rd June 1894.

On Saturday 23 at the Mirador del Pacífico of the Cinta Costera II there were exhibitions of different sports organizations such as: judo, karate, boxing, gymnastics, fencing, archery, tennis and fencing.

Héctor Cención, silver medal in the last South American Games, made an exhibition of Karate Kata.

The day also featured presentations of taekwondo and jiu-jitsu.

On Sunday the 24th, the traditional 5 km race – walk was made, which started from the platform located in the Mirador del Pacífico of the Cinta Costera II.

After the race, the transmission of the World Cup match between England and Panama was shown on a giant screen.
