ANOC Showcases its Digital Transformation Strategy at the 4th Lusophone Olympic Congress
The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) was honoured to participate in the 4th Lusophone Olympic Congress, held on 24–25 April at the Hotel Oásis Praia Mar in Cidade da Praia, Cape Verde. Organised by ACOLOP (the Association of Portuguese Speaking Olympic Committees), the event brought together representatives from Lusophone National Olympic Committees under the theme: “For a Common Approach to Development Through Sport.”
Representing ANOC, Andrés Santi Gonzalez, Senior Project and Event Manager, delivered a presentation highlighting ANOC’s commitment to digital innovation and knowledge-sharing, with a particular focus on the Digital Accelerator Program (DAP) and the strategic use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance NOC operations.
Accelerating Digital Transformation
Launched in 2021, the Digital Accelerator Program is a flagship initiative designed to support NOCs in their digital transformation. The program has evolved into a comprehensive four-pillar framework:
-
Upskilling & Learning – Through handbooks, guides, and expert-led workshops, NOCs build strong foundations in digital communication.
-
Exchange & Comparison – NOCs learn from each other via case studies, social media dashboards, and performance reports from major Games.
-
Services & Content – ANOC provides professional photo and video production during Olympic events, and supports official account verification for NOCs.
-
Tailored Content Distribution – Tools like ANOC.TV and the ANOC Digital Content Hub help deliver ready-to-use content to NOCs, often enhanced with AI-assisted highlights.
Launch of the ANOC Digital Content Hub
During the Congress, ANOC announced the launch of the ANOC Digital Content Hub—a new initiative designed to bridge the gap between International Federations (IFs) and NOCs. This digital hub provides ready-to-use content that NOCs can easily share on their platforms, helping them maintain visibility and engage their audiences throughout the flame-to-flame period, between Olympic Games.
By streamlining content distribution and ensuring consistent messaging across the Olympic Movement, the Hub strengthens the connection between fans and their NOCs, while amplifying the reach of Olympic sports.
Embracing the Future with AI
The presentation also explored the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in sport. From talent identification and performance analysis to injury prevention, content creation, and fan personalisation, AI is reshaping the way organisations operate and engage with audiences.
Real-world success stories included AI-based stroke analysis in swimming, motion recognition in judo, and AI-assisted strategy in motorsport. ANOC also highlighted how generative AI can support daily operations—whether it’s writing, analysing, brainstorming, or automating workflows.
Through its participation in the 4th Lusophone Olympic Congress, ANOC reaffirmed its commitment to building a stronger and more digitally connected Olympic community, in collaboration with its 206 member NOCs and regional partners like ACOLOP.
