The beach tennis pairs Burmakin/Giovannini and Gasparri/Valentini shine in Ras Al Khaimah

The United Arab Emirates welcomed the world’s best beach tennis players for one week in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK). Players came from Japan, Brazil, Russia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Aruba, Venezuela and Morocco and competed in two tournaments (12-14 April and 16-18 April).

All players shared the same views about the RAK BT200 Week Tour and were happy to be in the United Arab Emirates and in Ras Al Khaimah for the first time, being a beautiful experience for the sport, the culture and the people.

The UAE Tennis Federation delivered a professional organisation always supported by the RAK Tourism Authority Development.

1st RAK ITF BT200 Tournament

The Italian and top 3 seeded pair of Giulia Gasparri and Ninny Valentini won the women’s doubles at the inaugural edition of the BT200 Ras Al Khaimah Beach Tennis championship after defeating the Italo-Brazilian pair Flaminia Daina and Joana Cortez 6-0, 6-3 in the final.

In the men’s competition, the second-seeded duo of Nikita Burmakin and Tommaso Giovannini defeated the Russian duo Kirill Fartukov and Maxim Lonin in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 in the final.

2nd RAK ITF BT200 Tournament

Giulia Gasparri and Ninny Valentini also won the second women’s doubles tournament defeating in the final the top-seeded Italian pair Sofia Cimatti and Nicole Nobile 6-3, 6-3.

The Italo-Russian Men’s pair of Nikita Burmakin and Tommaso Giovannini also won the second edition of the BT200 Ras Al Khaimah Beach Tennis championship by defeating this time the Italian duo Doriano Beccacciolo and Mattia Spoto 7-5, 6-4.

His Excellency Mr. Nasser Yousef Al Marzouqi, Tennis Federation Board of Directors Member and General Secretary, praised the distinguished partnership and joint cooperation with Empower Sport Services for the successful organization of five international and local championships in beach tennis in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, wishing them a lot of future success and more cooperation.
