AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC COMMITTEE APPOINTS MARK ARBIB AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) has named Mark Arbib as its next Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Arbib succeeds outgoing CEO Matt Carroll, who led major reforms and guided Australia’s Olympic teams from 2016 to 2024, leaving a lasting impact on the nation’s Olympic Movement.

His background includes roles as President of Athletics Australia, Federal Minister for Sport, and board member of WADA, Sydney FC, and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

AOC President Ian Chesterman praised Mr. Arbib’s deep knowledge of the sports landscape and commitment to the Olympic Movement.

“Mark’s experience across sport, government, and business, combined with his passion for athletes, makes him the ideal choice to lead the AOC into Brisbane 2032 and beyond,” Mr. Chesterman said.

Mr. Arbib expressed his excitement for the role “The Olympics are the pinnacle of sport, and with a home Games in 2032, I’m honoured to help drive the movement forward.”
