Opening Ceremony of Olympic Day 2018
To commemorate the birth of Modern Olympic Movement the Sports for all Commission of the Nepal Olympic Committee marked the opening of a 8 day-celebration on the occasion of the Olympic Day on 16th June.
Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha hoisted the Nepal’s flag and Chairperson of the Sport for all Commission Mr. Bishnu Gopal Shrestha hoisted the flag of International Olympic Committee at the beginning of the programme.
The President Shrestha inaugurated the Cycle rally from NOC Headquarters to St.Xavier’s Godavari organized by Xaverian Alumni of Godavari with more than 400 participants by cutting the ribbon.
Shortly after the cycle rally had began there was a Motorcycle rally from the NOC Headquarters to Sports Hive Jhamsikhel where there were 80 Participants with bullet bikes.
There are total of 65 programmes in the 8 days long celebration in which there were 10 programmes on the opening day June 16.
In the Opening programme Vice president of NOC Mrs. Jyoti Rana, Secretary General Mr. Lama Tendi Sherpa, Members Mr. Ashok Bajracharya, Mr. Nilendra Shrestha and Mr. Ramesh Shrestha , Chairperson of Medical Commission Dr. Saroj Krishna Shrestha were also present.
