
Palestine NOC inaugurates 3rd School Olympic Week
Ramallah, Palestine, April 17, 2017: The Palestine Olympic Committee and Ministry of Education, represented by Gen. Gibreel Rajoub and Minister Sabri Saidam, inaugurated the 3rd School Olympic Week during the opening ceremony at the Hebron closed stadium, where all teams (female and male) lit the Olympic Torch and took the Olympic Oath.
During the week, various Olympic activities will be held across different Palestinian cities where talented, trained and skilled schoolchildren will take part in the likes of table tennis, judo, gymnastics and basketball. The children’s teams are from schools in different locations in Palestine.
Being held by the Palestine Olympic Committee involving government at the highest level, the School Olympic Week aims at integrating sports into routine education to promote and develop Olympic sports in Palestine starting from schools, where Olympic values can be instilled within them at an early age.
