Qatar 2019 athlete Kristof Rasovszky wins Olympic silver in 10km marathon swim

Hungary’s Kristof Rasovszky, who came 17th in the 5km open water swim at the ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019, won Olympic silver here at Tokyo 2020.

He was beaten by World champion Florian Wellbrock of Germany who touched in with a time of 1:48:33.7 – 25.3 ahead of Rasovszky.

Gregorio Paltrinieri of Italy took bronze in 1:49:01.1. He becomes the first Italian man to win an Olympic medal in marathon swimming.
