LET EVERYONE SHINE AT PYEONGCHANG 2018
The theme song for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Torch Relay, “Let Everyone Shine”, was premiered at the “G-200 Fireworks Festival” in Chuncheon, the capital of Gangwon Province on July 22.
The theme song incorporates the slogan of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Torch Relay, “Let Everyone Shine”, which represents the Olympic flame that will spark dreams, passion, and a future that opens up new horizons for all.
R&B diva, Insooni, performed the song live at the G-200 Fireworks Festival in front of an excited crowd of thousands. Insooni has been loved by her Korean fans for over 35 years, and she is one of the few Korean singers to perform at the Carnegie Hall in New York City. She was also named an honorary ambassador for PyeongChang 2018 before her performance yesterday.
KIM Dae-hyun, PyeongChang 2018 Director General of Culture and Ceremonies said, “Insooni’s performance tonight of ‘Let Everyone Shine’ was a great way to launch the theme that will unite the nation and help share the Olympic spirit as the Olympic flame makes its way across Korea from November 1st this year.
“She sang it with great passion and connected with the crowd that celebrated the 200 days to go milestone of the Olympic Winter Games.”
Insooni added, “I am honored to sing this very special song at the 200 days to go celebration and to be an ambassador for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Music has the power to connect people together, just like sport does. This is a special moment where the two have come together and we can all celebrate this exciting time for Korea and look forward to an amazing event in 200 days’ time.”
The PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Torch Relay will begin in Korea with the arrival of the Olympic flame on November 1, which also marks 100 days to the Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony. 7,500 torchbearers will travel 2018 kilometres by various means of transportation representing the past, present, and future of Korea. The Olympic Torch Relay will also be supported by presenting partners – Coca-Cola, Samsung Electronics, and KT.
