ANOC Secretary General presents medals at opening biathlon competition of Milano Cortina 2026
ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg today presented the medals following a thrilling opening biathlon event at Milano Cortina 2026. Lindberg presented the medals alongside International Biathlon Union (IBU) President Olle Dahlin.
The 4x6km mixed relay saw France claim gold after a commanding performance that remained undecided until the final laps. Italy, Germany and Norway battled closely for the remaining podium places but a costly final visit to the shooting range ended Norway’s medal hopes. Italy secured silver, with Germany taking bronze.
A sold-out crowd of 19,100 spectators created an electric atmosphere throughout the competition and stayed on to celebrate during the medal ceremony.
