EYOF Skopje 2025 Concludes with Strong Performances and Olympic Unity

Skopje, North Macedonia – 26 July 2025

The European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) Skopje 2025 concluded with a formal Closing Ceremony at the Jane Sandanski Sports Centre, marking the end of a successful week of youth sport and international cooperation. More than 2,500 athletes from 50 European National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 15 Olympic sports, making it the largest edition of the EYOF to date.

EOC President Spyros Capralos addressed the athletes and officials, highlighting the achievements of the participants and the importance of the EYOF as a platform for future Olympians.

The event also achieved significant digital engagement, with over 1.36 million views recorded on EOC TV. The live broadcast, produced in collaboration with ANOC TV, allowed audiences across Europe and beyond to follow the action.

Italy led the medal table for the third consecutive summer edition of the EYOF, winning 19 gold, 19 silver, and 12 bronze medals. Notable athletic performances included Estonia’s Allika Inkeri Moser setting a world U18 best in pole vault (4.52m), Italy’s Kelly Doualla breaking the U18 European record in the 100m, and Turkey’s Elif Berfin Altun setting a new U18 European mark in air rifle shooting.

The Closing Ceremony featured musical performances and official handovers, including the symbolic passing of the EOC flag to representatives from Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy, the host city of EYOF 2027.

President of the Skopje 2025 Organising Committee, Daniel Dimevski, expressed appreciation for the athletes, volunteers, and local community, and emphasized the broader impact of the event on youth and sport development in the region.

The EYOF Skopje 2025 leaves a lasting legacy of excellence in youth sport, strong organisational delivery, and the promotion of Olympic values across Europe.
