Successful Conclusion of the Games of the Small States of Europe in Andorra: A Sporting, Organizational, and Media Triumph

The 19th edition of the Games of the Small States of Europe came to a spectacular close in Andorra, marking a historic milestone for this unique event uniting Europe’s smallest sporting nations. Flawlessly organized by the Andorran committee, the Games stood out for their warm atmosphere and high-quality execution.

More than 1,000 athletes from 9 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed across 19 sports disciplines in the mountainous setting of Andorra. The competition was intense yet festive, and the final medal table saw Cyprus claim the top spot with 108 medals, followed by Luxembourg with 86, and Iceland with 75.

Unprecedented Media Coverage

For the first time in the history of the Games, the competition was broadcast live on ANOC.tv, alongside coverage by several national media outlets, offering unparalleled visibility for the event. Viewers from nearly 130 countries tuned in to watch and support their athletes, a sign of growing global interest in the Games.

Digital Support for NOCs and Athletes

ANOC played a central role in the success of this edition by supporting the organizing committee, particularly in coordinating the broadcasting operations. Ahead of and during the Games, ANOC launched a dedicated digital support program through the ANOC Digital Content HUB, a platform providing NOCs with ready-to-use content such as visuals, official photos, live clipping, and highlight videos.

Originally developed for the 9 participating NOCs, the initiative was extended to include National Federations and athletes. In total, over 100 partners joined the platform and received more than 3,000 content suggestions to enhance their communication efforts.

Amplified Communication Impact

This unprecedented level of digital coordination greatly amplified the media impact of the Games, ensuring wide and engaging coverage of the sporting performances and key moments. Thanks to strong synergy between institutions, federations, and athletes, the Games of the Small States of Europe reached new heights in international visibility.
