NOCs of Egypt and Moldova Adopt Rules to Prevent Manipulation of Competitions

The Egyptian and Moldovan National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have recently taken major steps to strengthen the integrity of sport by adopting rules aligned with the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions (OM Code PMC).

On 11 January 2026, the board of Directors of Egyptian Olympic Committee officially approved the new rules. Mohamed Abdelalim, the NOC SPOC from the Egypt NOC, stated that the Code will be circulated to all national sports federations (NFs) for adoption by their boards. He also confirmed plans to create a dedicated reporting page on the official website of the NOC for cases of competition manipulation, in compliance with the Code.

The General Assembly of National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova also adopted rules in line with the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions on 30 January 2026. Compliance with the OM Code PMC is mandatory for all Olympic Movement stakeholders, as outlined in Article 27 of the Olympic Charter, ensuring a unified approach to safeguarding competitions from manipulation.

These moves underscore both countries’ commitment to upholding fairness and transparency in sport.
